Bespoke, Targeted Marketing Campaigns
Introduction
Based in Shropshire, the client is an SME that sources and supplies products to high-street retailers and mail order companies. The company had sourced a unique product and had identified their target market but had no sales history with these companies. The product was also seasonal, which meant there was a relatively short time-frame in which to market it.Our Approach
Remote Business Support undertook an exercise to validate the contact names within their target market. At the same time, we spent time introducing the product and building the relationship with the relevant contacts.
We also reviewed the existing marketing literature for the product and made some key changes to give the product more appeal to the buyers we were targeting. We designed, wrote and produced a set of marketing literature to accompany the product samples. These included customer testimonials, key product benefits, technical information and a data sheet that provided all the relevant information about the product, along with photographs. It was essential that we produced a set of marketing literature from which a buyer could quickly make a decision as to whether to select the product.
Results
Our targeted campaign produced pre-season sales of 1,200 and a registered sales pipeline of over 10,000. This enabled the client to place orders on their supplier in plenty of time for the key selling period, although they did subsequently sellall their stock.In addition, validation of the contact database was established, ready for the follow up campaigns that will take place at key times throughout the year.
